Manswell is a native of Albany, Georgia, and a product of the Dougherty County School System. He attended Albany State University and Troy University obtaining his Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice. During this time at Albany State University, he pledged Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. in Spring 2001. Manswell served in the United States Navy during the first war in Desert Storm, and is now a disabled Veteran. He also formerly served as a Senior Corporal and Supervisor for the Albany Police Department. Following his time in military and law enforcement careers, he was a Professor at Darton State College in Albany teaching courses in Criminal Justice and Homeland Security. He has authored over 20 books, and writes movies and television shows.
Manswell also likes to give of his free time to organize and participate in various volunteer opportunities. He has served as a basketball coach for the YMCA and youth activities at Sherwood Baptist Church, as well as a mentor for Albany Sports. In addition, he hosts back-to-school shoe drives for children (“Shoes for School”), food drives for families for Thanksgiving, and toy drives for children at Christmas, all in several states.
Manswell currently lives in Albany with his wife and youngest son. His wife, LaTonya, is a professor teaching online Criminal Justice courses at American Intercontinental University. She is also a community volunteer, and member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Manswell’s oldest son is a graduate of Georgia Southern University with a degree in Chemistry.
As a member of Greater 2nd Mount Olive Baptist Church in Albany, and a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., Manswell is dedicated to the service of others. He truly believe he can make the changes Georgians need.
